The Chosen One Has Been Given A Name!

simba

As we reported about a week or two ago, Leah had her third baby (first with second husband Jeremy) and now we have been blessed with the opportunity to know her name.

While details and photos are likely still being shopped to the highest bidding tabloid, a messenger came down from the mountain tops braving wild weather and vicious animals to tease us with the name.  I present to you – Addalynn!

With that said, I will just leave this clip here…

  3. avatar Whoa it's ash says:

    HAHAHAHA brilliant

  4. OMG! Hahahahaha! That movie was hilarious and the clip is oh so appropriate here ;)

  5. avatar Jennifer says:

I’m not fond of the baby’s name! It sounds like an old lady’s name!

    • avatar Allison says:

the baby won’t always be a baby… lol

  6. avatar DM says:

    I get it!

The A names were Leah’s idea and the ah at the end was Corey’s idea.
The bizarre names in general – well that’s just a flaw of this generation.

    I miss traditional names!

  7. avatar Chantelle says:

Oh great my name’s on that clip haha! Hilarious! A few people predicted it would start with an “A” lol

  8. avatar Kaylie says:

I feel like all of Leah’s children were named in the middle of a Tourette’s spasm where she gets a tic in the middle of spelling out the childrens’ names and adds all these extra letters. Aleeah should be spelled Aleah, Aliannah should be spelled Aliana, and Addalynn should be spelled Adalyn.

She’s way too letter crazy. It just leaves your kids with an entire life of frustration of everyone spelling their names wrong and never being able to find their name on stuff like magnets and necklaces. I know because my name isn’t a common spelling. Most people spell it Kaylee.

    • avatar DM says:

Actually I’d say Aleeah got off easy. The traditional way to spell it is Aaliyah.

      • avatar Sarah M says:

I don’t know if this is too harsh to say (it has nothing to do with the kiddo herself!), but Aleeah seems like the white trash version of Aaliyah. Like she’s spelling it out as she’s pronouncing it (like she can’t spell): Alllleeeeeaaaah.

      • avatar Kaylie says:

You’re right. I spelled it that way because Leah said that they named Aleeah after her, so with that I don’t think anybody would have knocked them for spelling it “Aleah” since they wanted the reference to Leah and Aleah is a “real” way to spell it.

I grew up with 2 Aleah’s that spelled it that way, too, and none that spelled it the way the singer Aaliyah did. I think that has a major influence on how people spell names certain ways. For example, if you grow up with 10 Sarah’s then whenever somebody spells it Sara it won’t seem normal, even though they are both “right”.

        • avatar Kat says:

I agree that the spellings of all there names are a little crazy and they will definitely be spelling their names all the times for people, but there are so many names that have more than one spelling that we still consider normal. I mean, think about it; how many “normal” names have numerous spellings? (Kaylie/Kaylee (as you said), Kathleen/Cathleen, Catelynn/Caitlin/Katelyn/Kaitlyn etc, Rebecca/Rebekah, Sara/Sarah). I’m a teacher and in 2 years I had 6 Briana’s who spelled their names 6 different ways!

          • avatar Khloe says:

i agree. a lot of people spell my name with a C. and then when i say its with a K they go really? or did you just do that because of Khloe Kardashian? it’s super annoying because my mom used a K because my dad’s name starts with a K.

i do like original names. my son is named Kyrie. but is leah’s baby’s name pronounced like ADD-A-LYN or AY-DA-LYN?

    • avatar No says:

I agree with you about the extra letters except for the extra N in Addalynn. Lynn is a southern name, so at least where I live, if someone was named Adalyn she’d grow up having to correct everyone when they spelled it Adalynn.

    • avatar Jennifer says:

OMG yes. My stupid step son and his “baby mama” names our granddaughter Aleesiyah. WHY???? So “people wouldn’t say her name like “Alisha”. Fucktards. Oh yeah… they were also smoking K2/Spice her whole pregnancy and she was born a month early and stayed in the NICU. When the priest came in to bless her and asked what her name was they both answered “Aleeeessssiyaaah”. He responded, “Ah..Alisha. What a beautiful name..”. I died laughing inside at the looks on their faces.
      Again, FUCKTARDS.

      • avatar nightmaremoon says:

ok thats funny, i almost choked reading that, and thinking about what was going though the priet head “got whats wrong with these hicks”

        • avatar nightmaremoon says:

          *god

im still getting used to being able to type unlike at TMT

  9. avatar Kaylie says:

I forgot to add that I think the title of this post and the video in it are amazing. Well done, TMJ! I’ve come to expect nothing less than that type of brilliance, though.

  10. avatar JNV says:

Omg too perfect! Addalynn looks like adderal…yes?! Reminds me of the name alegra…why why why

    • avatar williambo says:

Oh my now I’ll never think of anything but Adderal when I hear the name. I actually don’t think it’s so bad to name your kids in an alliteration, where they all start with the same letter. The problem is, Leah’s kid’s names are all so very similar. Especially since her twins both have “Al-lee” sound in the beginning. It gets confusing, especially when you say “Ali and Aleeah.” And yes, I have seen Aaliyah spelled that way, that was the first way I ever saw it spelled.

Addalynn, I agree, is a little bit letter-happy, but the name itself I think is a less common combination of two names. I think it’s actually kind of pretty, it rolls off the tongue nicely. At least she didn’t name the kid Allisson, or Allyssa, or Allaynna, or something else with “Ali” in the beginning. I do wonder what the third baby’s middle name is. Anyone know that? Or is that another tabloid story they have to sell in a month? I bet it’s Faith. Or LOVE.

      • avatar Megs says:

I’ve got my fingers crossed for Chastity. Not that Leah understands that word.

        • avatar MissM says:

Yeah but then she might spell is Chasstittee or something.

          • avatar williambo says:

            Chastitty heh heh

      • avatar Jenelle's Stolen Clothes says:

        Is Hope taken?

        • avatar DM says:

          Ali’s middle name

  11. avatar Meagan says:

This doesn’t really pertain to the post, but I AM SO GLAD YOU’RE BACK! This is my fav blog ever, not because I’m a huge Teen Mom fan, but because it’s just so entertaining.

Thank you for making my afternoon!

    • avatar Kaylie says:

The only reason I watch Teen Mom any more is because I know I’ll feel out of the loop reading TMJ and I’m Bringing Blogging Back if I don’t. Whenever TMJ and IBBB stopped posting for a little bit I stopped watching. When they both came back I had about 3 or 4 weeks of episodes to catch up on. Melinda and Steve, if it was up to me you guys would deserve a cut of the girls’ salaries.

    • avatar A says:

      Steve’s got his groove back!

  12. avatar Candace says:

Yes! My first name is in the first bit and of course it’s paired with Lynn… It’s alright though because I was born white trash and have gone nowhere but up from there. I hope Leah’s kids do the same.

As far as the new baby’s name… I agree with pretty much everyone else who says it’s dumb and annoying because people will misspell and mispronounce it all of her life. Not sure not finding it on a magnet will be a big deal though. You can order those must have items, lol.

    • avatar JNV says:

Lol the magnet thing is kind of silly, although I’ve made that point too. I remember growing up and never being able to find my name and how sad it made me. My name is Valerie, not weird, but not common. Go figure I named my son “Jonah”..again not a weird name but doubtful ill ever find it on a license plate lol

      • avatar Kaylie says:

I feel like most kids in this generation won’t be able to find their name on a license plate. Even if their name is common and trendy, parents give their kids these ridiculous spellings to make their child “unique”.

      • avatar the other emily says:

I love your name, and your son’s!!! I got Emily, and you say he may never find his…but I’ve seen his more than mine!!

        • avatar JNV says:

Thanks, we call him jones most of the time :) I love his name, and I’m excited you’ve seen the name on stuff! But I swear if it gets popular I’m gonna kill it is so hard to find a nice name that’s not too popular and not too weird. Ugh the struggles of parenthood…

          • avatar the other emily says:

Lol, when I lived in northern Kansas I actually knew a boy named Jonah. I think he’d be about 14-15 now, since he’s not much younger than me. His older sister is Desiree and the younger is Maelynn, so all of their names were a little different. But I’ve never known anyone else with that name so it’s nice to see.

      • avatar nightmaremoon says:

ok so my daughter is Valkyrie and people always think always think i mispelled Valerie and it drives me nuts couse her name is not “weird” hell her name is spelled correct and old as DIRT!! OLDER THEN “BIBLE NAMES”
        sorry end rant

        • avatar nightmaremoon says:

plus who the f cares if i cant buy crap with her name on it, if its inportent enough I will have it hand made!

          • avatar nightmaremoon says:

            *importent

        • avatar morons says:

How do you pronounce that?? Never seen it before. As far as buying things with her name. Screw that. If you want something to be personal than you two can make it and have a fun mommy daughter craft thing.

          • avatar nightmaremoon says:

Val-Ker-E, Its a name from Norse Mythology (Viking)

        • avatar Miakoda says:

My daughters’ names are Cadence and Clarissa. I will never find anything with their names on it either .

        • avatar Mel says:

Valkyrie? I’m sure your daughter is thrilled you gave her such a unique name, “older than bible names” as you put it. I’m sure that will stop all the kids from making fun of her in school.

  13. avatar tangy says:

lol it looks like a ADD/ADHD medicine hahaha

  14. avatar CEHC says:

I hate ridiculous spellings. I legally changed my name from Leigh-Anne to Leanne just because I hated have to spell it out all the time!
Addalynn does sound pretty though, and goes with the twins!

  15. avatar Hilarious! says:

Leah is such a FAKE! She has a pack of Oompa Loompas and Amazon women “protecting”her. Guess what SPAZOIDS?! One OR more of your animals is selling you out. GO crawl under a rock, really. Leah you are a loser and so are your friends. Where’s Amazon Amy? Wait, she’s a junkie now right? Meth diet for all I guess. WOW! Move on backwoods inbreds from WV, you can’t hang. LMAO!

  16. avatar Hilarious! says:

PS TMJ blogger, you call it the way you see it. LOVE IT!!! I love your sarcasm!

  17. avatar haha says:

When ah grow up ah wanna name my kids alleeyuh, alleepnuh and adduhlynnnnnnn.

    • avatar haha says:

      *alleeonuh

      • avatar Kaylie says:

I can never figure out if it’s pronounced Ali-ON-ah or Ali-ANNE-ah. She and Corey say it both ways all the time.

        • avatar Soph says:

huum I’ve asked my self the same question, and I got the feeling it’s separated differently, more like Ali-oh-nah

  18. avatar Jennhatesyou says:

it sounds like a prairie dress wearing, long braided farm hair sporting, marrying your cousin on Warren Jeff’s compound in Utah type name. Maybe it’s because it sounds like the mother in law from big love’s name…whatever. I don’t like any of the names, but that’s just my fart of an opinion.

  19. avatar Monica says:

This is the Teen Mom Junkies that I LOVE!!!! Bwahahaha! I love that you are not up their butts the way a certain other blogger is. If she could drink their sweat or wear their skins she would.

  20. avatar Natalia says:

I honestly expected something 10 times worse, but that spelling makes me think Leah moved through the education system due to social promotion, not merit.

  21. avatar Debra of Whoville says:

Leah should take a look-see at this article.

    http://deadspin.com/5924827/american-baby-names-are-somehow-getting-even-worse

  22. avatar Pixie says:

Personally I don’t think its too bad. I was expecting a lot worse. I don’t think I actually have heard the name Addalyn before. But the second D seems a bit much.

I wonder what the whole name is… I feel like it will be Addalyn Faith or something like that since Grace and Hope are the twins middle names.

    • avatar the other emily says:

Joy? Theres another I can’t remember right now that it could be.

      • avatar williambo says:

That’s that other fruit of the spirit name I had forgotten! haha

  23. avatar Melissa says:

TMJ is back! The title is brilliant and the Ted clip sent me over the edge. Sooo true! She’s gonna keep having babies. All with trailer park names that begin with A. How very white trash Dugger family of her.

    • avatar morons says:

while I think the Duggers are crazy they are FAR from white trash. They are very successful and do oodles of charity work. bible thumping douches?? yes. White trash?? nope.

      • avatar nightmaremoon says:

I think what she means is Leah is (or is working on being) the white trash version on the Duggers. Right?

        • avatar Melissa says:

The Duggar’s (looked up the correct spelling. Cause ya never know, someone here might worship Jim Bob and his ‘J’ named crew and would end up correcting me) are in no way white trash. The way Leah is popping out kids and have the whole same first letter of their names thing going on, she’s headed down the Duggar path. Instead of her path being lined with Bibles, her path will be lined with all the trailers she’ll have to hook together to house all those kids.

          • avatar nightmaremoon says:

            thats what i said right?

          • avatar Melissa says:

Yes, thank you. When I replied, your comment explaining what I meant wasn’t showing up. :)

  24. avatar Laura says:

I understand that you want all your kids to have similar names but why would Jeremy want to have his child’s name similar to what Leah and Corey picked out for their daughters. It’s seems so weird to me, I think I would want something different and I would give that courtesy to my husband.

  25. avatar alleykay says:

Aw I like the name, and obviously they will end up calling her Addie. I think it’s cute and I like the “A” tradition, I plan on doing the same thing one day, but my name actually starts with an A, not sure why Leah likes it so much

  26. avatar J says:

I’m personally not fond of the name and it doesn’t really sound good with the last name, Addalynn Calvert, then again, it depends how its pronounced..either way I’m still not crazy about the name.

  27. avatar J says:

The clip from Ted goes so well with this post nice work TMJ!(:
