A couple of months ago, rumors were swirling that MTV was planning to bring back the original Teen Mom girls for a 5th season of their show. Although none of the cast members have ever actually spilled the beans on this information, a new report from US Weekly says that three of the four original Teen Mom girls are negotiating contracts with MTV.
If you look at where these girls are in their lives at the moments, you’ll see that some of them would have potentially interesting story lines to share. Amber was just released from prison in November 2013, and she seems to be adjusting to life pretty well, but I am sure that the struggles she faces on a day to day basis are still there. Addiction is a terrible thing, and even though I’m proud of Amber’s accomplishments so far, I still don’t think it would take much for her to spiral back to that place again.
Catelynn and Tyler just announced that they’re trying to have a baby, and it would be interesting to see if they ever actually get married, how they parent a newborn, and their confliction with keeping this second child, but giving their first daughter up for adoption. Of course, we would love our updates on Butch and April too.
Maci’s life hasn’t seemed to change that much, except for the fact that she’s in a pretty serious relationship, and that she’s been ousted as more of a partier than we ever really caught a glimpse of during her Teen Mom days.
That leaves Farrah. We all know what Farrah’s been up to (or what’s been up Farrah) since filming ended, and the new reports from US Weekly are saying that she’s the girl who isn’t going to be getting her contract renewed. Apparently the network thought that Farrah set a bad example and didn’t represent MTV well. This would mean that Teen Mom would continue without Farrah. Farrah hasn’t directly commented on this report, but she happened to share a Tweet with her followers about her time on reality television that is leading a lot of people to think that these rumors are true. Farrah said:
MTV had a lot of success when they brought back the Teen Mom girls for their hour-long specials several months ago, and Being Catelynn, Being Amber, and Being Farrah all were trending on social media accounts. It’s pretty obvious that there’s still a big fan base for these girls, and they are still receiving offers to speak at colleges and appear on talk shows.
